The Twins

While eating breakfast on the patio a few days ago, I noticed some visitors.

 Twin fawns!

 They moved back toward the pond.

 Walking along the pond dam, I spotted this twin watching me.

 Shortly joined by the other twin.

 Then they decided enough is enough and they left.

 Followed by Twin #2

 Apparently they were still curious . . .

And then they were gone!

Fun Day in Lawrence

Last Friday we headed to Lawrence with good friends Susie and Bonnie and met up with Katy for a fun day. We arrived at Washington Creek Lavender, located south of Lawrence by the community of Lone Star, when they opened at 10 a.m. and were given a tour by the owner Jack Wilson.

 The white variety of lavender is called Edelweiss and the purple variety is Grosso. They also have Melissa which is a pink lavender.

After eating a delicious lunch at Free State Brewery, we walked around downtown Lawrence. We stopped at the Ladybird Diner for cold drinks and pie. Each table had a unique set of salt and pepper shakers and we immediately thought of Nick and Megan!

At 4:30 p.m. we had appointments at The Bodhi Tree for acupuncture treatments. We all came away with less aches and pains and feeling very relaxed.

Loved our day in Lawrence!

Pickin' Those Blueberries

Last week we visited Robertson's Family Blueberry Farm in Saginaw, a small village south of Joplin, Missouri.

The farm opened for customers at 7:00 a.m. and we arrived right on time.

 The morning was cool and the dew was heavy.

The farm has over 2,000 blueberry bushes.

 The berries were plentiful and the picking was easy.

 Our arms got wet from the dew.

 It didn't take long to fill our buckets. Chuck was the overachiever!

 We picked over 14 pounds of berries.
